Chip In Widget - OK or Tacky?

Hey, gang.

I'm starting to test promoting the community in places like Google AdWords and Facebook ads. While the costs of such promotion is reasonable, it can still be a bit stiff for one guy to carry. I'm considering adding a Chip In widget to the site. No pressure to contribute. This is a FREE and FUN community. But it would help defray the costs. All money collected would go to promoting and improving the community.

So, is this tacky or acceptable?
